Egg Tarts (Dan Tat)

Egg tarts have always been one of my favorite items when eating dim sum. I never thought I would be able to make it at home until my friend shared her grandmother’s egg tart recipe!

We added vanilla extract which made it a yellower color and gave it a hint of vanilla flavor. If you like the traditional egg tart taste then you could definitely do without.

I hope you enjoy these as much as I did!

This recipe makes 12 egg tarts.

Ingredients:

1/3 block cream cheese

Butter 4 oz

1 cup flour

2 cups and 1 ounce milk – heat 1 minute in microwave (optional)

1/2 cup granulated sugar

3 eggs

1/4 Tsp vanilla extract (optional)

Directions:

1. Combine flour, cream cheese, and butter and knead with hand until it becomes a dough
